SPARE!!!

We went bowling tonight with my parents and my brother's family (Lance and Kara). We had so much fun! Thanks mom and dad for the bowling game. Matthew is now completely into bowling! Notice the SHOES!!! The smallest size that they had was 6. matthew wears fives, so I thought that was close enough. These were actually the ones that Tanna, my neice, was wearing until she got tired of them. Matthew LOVED them.




This is Isaac, Lance and Kara's youngest. He is so incredibly cute, and such a happy baby! I love his smile.

This picture is kind of dark, but this is Tanna bowling and Lance helping her. Tanna was hilarious all weekend. She is such a cutie and growing so fast!

This next video is of matthew bowling. He absolutely LOVED it!!! And amazingly enough he got a spare!!! He's a born bowler. Good at sports just like his daddy.

The last movie is of Matthew, Tanna and Isaac on a little merry-go-round toy in the kid's play area at the bowling alley. Matthew wasn't so sure about it. I wonder if his balance issues with his ear make him get sea sick really easy, because he looks like he's about to puke. He was a good sport though!

Kissy Face

Last night Curt was taking pictures of me in different dresses that I'm selling to put on the school bulletin board. Little Matthew was so sad because he wanted to be in the pictures too. So when we were done we took a lot of pictures of Matthew just to make him happy.

Cheese, Geese and other birds

Here's Matthew's "Cheese" face. Only he calls it Geeeeeese. He loves smiling for the camera now.

Today Curt and I were very burned out from school and everything, so we took a quick trip up to Henry's Lake in Island Park. Curt is a Geology minor, but sometimes I think that he should be a Geology major. He loves rocks and things like that. I think it's cool and all, but I don't know nearly as much as him.

Here's what Matthew did while we looked at rocks. I propped his coat up under his head because his poor chin was clear down on his chest and I was afraid he'd wake up cranky from a kinked neck! Poor guy, that can't be very comfortable...but he took a nice long nap.

We also went bird watching. Curt has a wildlife managment class where he is supposed to write down as many new birds that he sees as he can. He's got this awesome little bird book and everything. I love that!! Curt said that I was good luck, because we saw 4 new birds today!!! Usually he's lucky if he sees one new one on any particular outing.

And this is what matthew did while we were bird watching...slept. See, he did take a long nap!!! He eventually did wake up, but the camera batteries were dead by then. There was the most beautiful sunset! I was so dissappointed that the camera was dead. We had such a good time. It was a much needed break!!

Cocoa Bean

Last night we went to Cocoa Bean with Cody, Tricia and Wesely for family night. They have got amazing cupcakes and their hot chocolate is delicious!! Thanks Tricia and "Dodo" (that's what Matthew calls Cody) for inviting us. We had so much fun! Curt stuck the sticker from the hot cocoa on Wesely's head. Matthew thought it was funny so we stuck it on his head. He didn't really like it on himself though, he just pulled it off and put it back on Wesely.

I finally got Matthew's bed all painted and set up last week. It seems like I was working on it for a very long time! The bed is a little too tall for Matthew to climb up on still (it's an old bunk bed from when I was growing up) so I got him a step stool to climb up there. He hasn't figured that out completely yet, but he LOVES his bed!

I got brave last night and cut his hair. Curt held him while I cut. It actually turned out better than I thought it would, and Matthew was really good the whole time. The last time he got his hair cut he screamed the entire time. This time he just whined a little.

He was posing so cute for me in his rocking chair. His new thing is to hold a phone or camera up in front of himself and say "geeeese" (for cheese).

Time Out? (this is a long one so look out!)

We set Matthew's playpen back up so that he would have a "time-out" zone if we need it, but I don't know if it's going to work out. He thinks of it more as a play zone!

We took down Matthew's old jumperoo. Matthew hasn't wanted to get in it for a long time now, but since it was sitting down on the ground he thought that it looked like fun so he climbed right in! What a goose! And in case you were wondering, that is chocolate all over the front of Matthew's onsie. He shared a chocolate pudding with me. He may look just like his dad, but I think that he got a couple of personality traits from me, with a major one being the love of chocolate and goodies!!! We've actually had a hard time getting Matthew to eat much right now. Since he learned the sign for candy that's all he asks for! It does take its toll though. Thursday I finally went to a dentist to get my cracked tooth fixed. That thing has been cavity ridden and cracked for over six months now. It wasn't bothering me, and I knew it would be expensive, so I put it off until last sunday another piece chipped off. I knew that I needed to schedule an appointment soon, so I did monday. The dentist claimed that I had one of the strongest jaw muscles he's ever dealt with. My jaw kept bending the needles when he tried to numb the area. I bent 4 needles before it was finally enough to deaden it so that I could stand the pain, even though it still hurt. I guess he just couldn't inject enough drugs because my jaw wouldn't let him. Crazy!! It was good to get that tooth fixed up (thank you so much mom for the help) but the bad news is that I have to go back for more. Yup....I have 3 more cavities that need work. None of them will be that bad. But boy am I thankful for technology and mecical personell! It is so nice to have my tooth good again. Well...when it rains it pours. After my dentist appointment we went to my parent's place for a visit and my mom noticed that matthew had a fever. He just thursday got off his 10 day cycle of antibiotics for his very first ear infection. The next day his fever got even worse so I took him to the doctor and discovered that he has strep throat! poor little guy! So now he's BACK on antibiotics. He liked the ones for his ear. he called it candy. But this stuff is nasty! Whenever he takes it (which he is SOOO good about. He closes his eyes real tight and opens his mouth like "I'm ready") he gulps it and then does a little gag and a shiver. I just hope that Curt and I don't get it or anybody else we're around. Curt has been incredibly helpful through everything. We've had quite a few nights with very little sleep with matthew being sick the past 2 weeks. Sometimes when matthew wakes up at night Curt just turns to me and says, "What do I need to do?" What a good husband! But even with all the help from Curt I'm still up a lot at night. It is really taking a toll on my grades. But I know that everything will turn out okay, and again, I am VERY grateful for doctors....and antibiotics. I don't know a whole lot about them, and I've heard good and bad things about them, but I do know that Matthew was very sick when he was born, and primary children's gave him some certain special antibiotics and he got better. Otherwise who knows how sick he may have gotten and if he would have even made it. So, you can say all you want about them, but I'm for using them (as long as it is with prudence). Well, I guess I'll close for now. Thanks for sticking through my lengthy look into our crazy lives!

Ward Halloween Party

Last Saturday our ward had a halloween party. It was so much fun!!

This was from the pie eating contest. What I thought was hillarious is that a girl won it!

Jenna and her husband Steven Johnson. Jenna was a bunch of grapes and steven was himself...smiling. It was kind of creepy and matthew definitely didn't like it. But then again, matthew wasn't really sure about anybody there except for me. He was so clingy the entire time!! I think he was a little spooked by all of the weird outfits.

Luckily matthew wasn't scared of Curt. I was! Curt pulled off this vampire thing pretty well!

Aren't we scary looking!! It was so much fun, the activity coordinators did a great job on the party.

Bathtime!

Last night we were over at my parents' house to cut more of Curt's deer meat. this movie is of Matthew and his cousin, Wesley. Wesley is almost 5 months younger than Matthew. Cody and Patricia's apartment complex is right across the street from ours, so these two see each other a lot. They have so much fun when they get together!

Matthew has a sticker fettish. He LOVES them. Every time we go to the grocery store he begs for one. They have cute little teddy bear stickers. Now he expects them at WalMart as well. Luckily the last time we went the cashier happened to have smiley stickers at her register. So I bought Matthew his own pack with animals on them. Most of them say something like "Great Job!" (which whenever he hears he starts clapping for himself and nodding his head up and down like he's so proud of himself). Today he found them. and boy did he ever find them!!!

When I tried to take them off of his head after he was done placing them all over himself he got really mad at me. Apparently he was going for a new fashion trend. So I left them. And he wore them until bathtime.

Here he is with his safari animals. Matthew really likes them. The lion looks ugly scary, but he's the one that gets the most kisses. Right here he's kissing the girraff....sporting his stickers.

What a day!

I am REALLY LOVING soccer this fall!!! I was really nervous at first to help Tricia coach, but I am liking it a lot better than I even thought I would. Maybe that's because Tricia makes it easy since she's such a good coach. This picture is of me and my friend Jenna Johnson. This is our team. We're called Thunder. It's actually surprising how competetive the teams are here. Even though we're all from the same school, it's really fun to play against each other. We have six teams in the league I think.

Yesterday after my soccer game Curt went up Heise canyon area to hunt for deer. After hiking for a long time he finally scared one out of some junipers, but it was about 400 yards away. He pulled up his gun but thought that he'd never hit it so far away! His first shot missed, but changed the direction that the deer was running so that now it was running straight away from him. So he shot again and hit it right in the spine. Sadly the bullet went through and ended up hitting one of the anters too and blew it off. You can see the one on the right he's just holding in place. But hey, we're not complaining! We love whitetail deer meat! I used my crockpot (that I got when we got married over two years ago, I know, sad.) for the first time today on the tenderloins. Oh man, was that ever tasty!

We were up until after 1 am skinning and cutting up as much of the meat as we could. Luckily our church time moved from 9am to 1pm this week! It was totally worth it. We really feel blessed right now. That's just one less thing to have to stress about. Now that Curt got his deer he just needs to get his elk and then he can focus more on sSchool. Heaven knows we've got enough on our plates with school and everything without having to worry about when he's going to have time to hunt!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy WeSLeY !!!

Yesterday Wesley turned One Year Old! Cody and Tricia threw an awesome birthday party for Wesinator. He was so cute eating his cupcake. Well...he didn't really EAT it, he just played with it until he got tired of it and then he hucked it across the kitchen. What a cute kid!

Matthew had fun at the party. Unlike Wesley, he actually liked EATING the cake! And of course snuggling with Grandpa Kit and Grandma Janet.

Here's the beautiful hostess herself! Great job on the cake, too! supposedly it was Tricia's first cake decorating adventure, but I don't really believe that because it was amazing. Put matthew's cake that I made for his 1st birthday to shame! hahaha

So tonight Curt came home from a really hard test with flowers...for me!!! He's the one that had the hard day and to make it better he does something to make me happy. Isn't that amazing! What a great husband I have. He didn't just give me flowers though, he gave me CHOCOLATE too!!! WOW! It's no holiday of any kind, no special occasion, just that he loves me. I am lucky, aren't I?

Lucky for me, Curt is Mr. Bath. They have so much fun at bathtime. Matthew always expects Curt to be the bather. If I ever try matthew will be patient with me, but I'm just no daddy. Sometimes no one will do but daddy! There are actually a lot of things that Matthew does soley with Curt. They have their special way of eating breakfast together, and daddy is best at making matthew smile for pictures. They have a lot of fun together. Curt is such a good dad too. This semester has been really stressful with Curt and I both taking full credits. Curt is really good to help out not just with matthew, but he does a lot of the cleaning around here too. I just don't know what I would do without him! I have an amazing little fam!!!!
They get so silly! Most of time Curt just takes off his shirt because it would get soaked anyway. They love their splash wars!

My little man walks! It has been a long wait because Matthew doesn't have very good balance due to his hearing loss in one ear, but look at him now! Matthew has such a strong will. I feel so proud of him when he overcomes his trials. There may be things that are harder for matthew to do or learn than they are for other kids, but I know that as he conquers those things he will be better for it. He is such an intelligent, positive kid! We're so lucky to be his parents.
