The Lake

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to go to Rigby Lake!! Wo woo!!!!

We all got some sun and had so much fun! Matthew especially. He really enjoyed playing in the water, and right when we got there first thing he grabbed my hand and walked in the water and pulled me DEEP! It got up to his chest and he kind of gasped and I said, "Is that COLD?!!" and he said "No, okay" and then promptly turned around and wanted to go back.

Curt and Matthew went out deep and had some fun swimming around until Matthew started freezing. The water was so incredibly cold. I spent most of the time on the beach and the deepest I ever went was to my waist!

Pool Time!

It was finally warm enough today for our neighborly Wednesday pool day! And this time Matthew got IN the pool! Wahoo for progress! And he had a really good time. We were out there for hours playing with all of the little kids. He didn't want to quit.

oh....so cute, I thought. I was getting some housework done and matthew was just playing in daddy's coat. So I thought I'd take some pictures....

Matthew: uh oh, mess...

Luckily he didn't really, but it was a scare still the same!

Who knew?

Matthew said, "Look mommy, mainbown" and I was like, huh? The peep hole on the door had the sun shining through it and it made a rainbow on the wall. So I moved Matthew's highchair over so he could reach it. He said, "catch it?" So I showed him how. It absolutely made his day!

Have some hair!!!

Remember this picture? Notice the hair. We gave Matthew basically a buzz cut less than 6 weeks ago....

Oh my HAIR!!! His hair grows like nothing I have ever witnessed before. I can not remember all of the haircuts he has had. His first one was a couple of weeks after he was born....

and then a couple of months later....and so on and so forth.

I hope that my future little girls get blonde, shiny, thick, easy growing hair like Matthew's!

I'm fine mommy!

Where did this kid come from? So I was sitting at the computer and I hear "I'm fine mommy! I'm fine!" and I think what in the world? So I go running into the livng room where Matthew is watching "It's a Big Big world". This is what I saw:

Splash

...At a park? No way!

who needs it when you have a back yard that collects rain like a pond?!!!

This was Matthew's reaction to not getting to splash the towel.

It's funny that he'll go running through freezing cold rain puddles at 9 in the morning but he won't set foot in a wading pool in the heat of the day.

It's ok, he wasn't quite himself since he woke up at 4:30 this morning and has been going like crazy since.

Busted

I caught Matthew playing with the scotch tape. He was doing a wonderful job taping up our bar stools! They certainly won't fall apart now!

I asked him waht he was doing.....

he was so nice to show me.

I was wiggling my fingers by the camera doing silly things to try to get his attention and get him to look at me. So he started making fun of me here.

Pocatello Escape!

I feel so bad! I neglected to take many pictures of our anniversary vacay in Pocatello!! Oh I had so many plans to document and be able to tell you all about it. Well, I can still tell you about it.

It was fun.

Just kidding, there's more to it than that!

So Friday mid-morning we dropped Matthew off to my angel mother who watched him most of the day so that Curt and I could go to Pocatello for a little couple time to celebrate our anniversary. See, this is basically the first anniversary we've ever had! Our real 1st was spent at Primary Children's when Matthew was born, and our second was spent at the hospital when Matthew had the highest fever I've ever seen (the doctor told us there was nothing to worry about). So we really needed this.

We booked a sweet hotel with a great pool and hot tub, watched X-Men Wolverine, shopped at 2 malls, toured the town (that part was an accident...we were really lost) and had a great time together. Meanwhile my mom dropped Matthew off at our AMAZING neighbors' to spend the night. Apparently it went fairly well. Better than I had expected, which is awesome. Makes me think we'll do this again next year....or maybe sooner.

So we had a great time and it was so relaxing.

But come on, obviously I missed this little rugrat!

I was glad to be home again with the little man.

Although it would be nice if he'd give me a good picture. I told him "let me see your eyes! and show me your teeth" because he wouldn't look toward the camera, and this is what I got. There was no way he was going to let me see his eyes!

Wish us luck getting any 2 year old pictures taken!

Three years today baby!

HaPpY AnNiVeRsArY!!!!!

It's hard to believe that three years has already gone by! I know that in the whole spectrum of things that isn't very long, but at this point it seems like it to me. It feels like I have been with Curt my entire life. I am so excited for the other infinity years to come!!!

Summit Creek

Over memorial day weekend we went camping at Barney Hot springs/summit creek with my parents and Vicky's family. We had so much fun, and matthew caught his first fish! Curt caught it and then he let Matthew reel it in. Little matthew was in heaven!!

Curt caught so many fish! He skunked us all! Curt was cheating though and using worms :)

When I was a little girl about matthew's age, I would pick up our cats and they would just kind of hang there limp, no matter how I picked them up. My dad always thought it was amazing because I would pick them up by the tail or the ears or a leg and they wouldn't mind at all. anyone else that tried to hold them like that got scratched or something. I am reminded of this every time Adessa picks up matthew. He just goes completely limp. Other people who try to hold him sometimes get a squirmy reaction from him, but NEVER Adessa.

Curt picked me some gorgeous wildflowers while we were there. Thanks honey! I Love you!

These binoculars that you keep seeing were named the "see yous" by Matthew, and they were a HUGE hit with the two boys! Kept them very happy for a very long time.

I love how well Adessa and Jexten play together (most of the time... )

This video cracks me up. Matthew was trying to describe the beauty of the plant to Jexten, and all he wanted to do was bop it with the hammer. Watch carefully at the end, Jexten looks away like "What in the heck is he saying?" and Matthew gives a start like "How rude!"
