We made our way to St. Charles, Idaho for our annual camping at my Aunt Maryann and uncle Richard's place near Bear Lake. We always love the Paris, Idaho parade and the Montpelier fireworks! Of course we spend most our time at Bear Lake soaking up the sun and swimming to our heart's content.
This year was pleasant because I got to break out my dvd player for the second time ever. This is the one that my parents gave me for Christmas and seriously, the kids get to watch it but it is a gift to ME. Nice quiet drive. Now I read a book to Curt and the drives go by so fast!
All of my siblings were there except Cody and his family. We wished they could be there with us! I also saw a lot of my cousins and aunts and uncles! It used to be the Thorson Family reunion until the family grew too big. Kara even brought her sister and family. Matthew loved having all the boys around.
The fireworks at Montpelier were great as usual. They moved it from the regular spot on M hill to the fairgrounds, which we all agreed was even better! I hope they move it there permanently. This picture is very low quality but was so cute!
we are oohing and ahhing the fireworks :)
My parents even brought along their "stargazing chairs"
Curt finally got his metal detector! He brought it along with us and it was so fun!! He found all sorts of old farm equipment metal from Richard and Maryann's place, but the beach was the real jackpot!
My mom is always so good at providing all sorts of activities for the kids to do during wait time. There was far more to do than we even had time for!
Hailey enjoyed special time from Grandpa. They went off alone a few times to swing or find the wild bunny that lives in the bushes across the street. It is there every year.
Everything was perfect about our vacation this year except the very last night Matthew got stung by a bee on his thumb. He took it well though and by morning it was fine. Kids are so resilient!
