This is what Matthew calls his "spongebob toe"
The other day he was barefoot playing at my parents house and he dropped a way too big of rock for him to be playing with on his toe. It pretty much made me sick to see it right after, and we thought it might be broken so we took him to the hospital. Luckily nothing was broken but he's definitely going to lose his toenail and he lost a big hunk of skin on his toe. Believe me, it is healing quick. It has been about 3 days now and it looks about 3 times better than it did the day it happened!
My camera isn't very good, so the pictures are hard to see, but his toe right above the toenail resembles hamburger. I will have to try to take a better picture next time we change bandages again.
Vicky called me the day after the incident happened and Matthew really wanted to tell her all about it. I think he is actually talking to Adessa here though....I'm not sure. Sorry the movie is dark. This is Matthew's explanation of what happened to his toe. I had the hardest time getting him to go to sleep the night he dropped the rock on his toe! Not because he was sad, or in pain, or anything like that. No, it was because he couldn't stop talking about how the rock squished his toe. "Dat daddy rock when SMASH don da toenail!"

we really really had a fun talk with him. the phone got passed from me, to adessa, to jexten and then jexten handed the phone to me and said, "hey da diant mashhew went beep!"
The poor little guy, that is so sad! That's cute that we wanted to tell everyone what happened!
