We were invited to come to Block Fest at Sugar Salem Elementary today. It was a bunch of stations set up with different kinds of blocks that were really just tons of fun, but were supposed to also teach kids things like science, arithmetic and language skills. Which really, I think any time you play anything with your kids it's teaching them SOMETHING you can say will be beneficial. Just like baby animals learn real life skills by "playing." Anyway we appreciated being invited and the kids had a great hour!
Matthew was hesitant at first because the gym was full of the school's kindergartners, but he warmed up quick.

Hailey just sat on my lap and observed mostly until we came to this station. She loved looking through the colors. After that she had a great time and didn't need me right there.

Matthew made a little buddy for the hour.

I love how my mom just jumps right in and plays with the kids. It's no wonder they love her so much!

I even had fun :)

We had to leave in time to pick up Curt from school. This was just waiting in the car for him.
